Start dates vary by program. Be sure to know the date of the first practice so that registration is complete before that date. Remember that participants must be registered to participate in practice.

Registration Basics
Sports Physicals
- All students that participate in an athletic sport must have a physical on file that is less than three years old and will not expire during the season which the student is registering for. Be prepared to be asked the date of the last Sports Qualifying Physical Exam (SQPE) for your student. Information can be found in your Bound profile.
- If your student's sports physical is no longer valid, or they have never had one, you will want to make an appointment for a child-well check with your physician or clinic, and take a hard copy of the MSHSL Sports Qualifying Physical Exam Form with you to that visit. Page one of the SQPE (Clearance Form) should be signed and dated by your health professional with the appropriate medical eligibility checked. Please be sure the top of the Clearance Form is filled out with your child's legal name and date of birth. The Clearance Form can be Uploaded to Bound, or emailed to the Activities Department.
- If you do not have a regular healthcare provider, we can connect you with resources that can provide a SQPE at a significantly reduced price. Contact the Activities Office for more information.
Payment
- Payment is made online through our secure site; please have your Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or ACH Bank Account information available in order to complete registration.
Financial Assistance
- If you are eligible for Educational Benefits through Food and Nutritional Services, you may qualify for a reduced fee; contact Food Services for information: baileyd@westonka.k12.mn.us.
- If you are not eligible for Educational Benefits, the Activities Department has some limited financial assistance available. We are also able to set up a payment plan. Contact the Activities Department if you are interested in knowing more about these options: lundgrenj@westonka.k12.mn.us
Residency
- You will be asked if the student is an off-campus learner, which includes homeschooling, accredited online and/or PSEO. Any off-campus learner must still reside within Westonka District 277.
Cooperative Programming
- Schools that combine together to create one joint team are called cooperatives.
- When Westonka is the host school, students that attend a partner school and participate in a cooperative program are required to fill out WHS (online) registration, per district policy. Typically these students register and pay a participation fee with their home school, and register with WHS without making payment.
- When Westonka is NOT the host school, students that attend WHS and participate in a cooperative hosted by a partner school will register and pay through WHS, as they would with any other program. Contact the Activities Department with questions about cooperative programming registration.
Team Managers/Statisticians
- All students participating with a program that requires registration must be registered, including student managers and record keepers. Students who assist the team but do not compete do not pay a fee. Contact the Activities Department for the registration procedure used for student managers (lundgrenj@westonka.k12.mn.us).
