Alemdar Sets School Record, Finishes 12th at State Swim Meet

Westonka High School senior Eren Alemdar delivered a record-breaking performance at the 2026 MSHSL Boys Class A Swim & Dive Championships, competing as an individual in the 100-yard backstroke at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center Feb. 27 and 28.

Alemdar made his mark during Friday’s preliminary heats, where he swam a school-record time of 55.45 seconds, finishing 10th and securing a spot in Saturday’s finals.

Returning to the pool the following day, Alemdar posted a 56.85 in the finals to place 12th overall in the state in the 100 Back.

The senior’s preliminary swim not only advanced him to the championship finals but also etched his name in the Westonka record books, marking a standout moment in the White Hawks captain's final high school appearance.
