Christenson Qualifies for National Speech Tournament

Westonka High School senior Hannah Christenson qualified for the National Speech & Debate Tournament in Original Oratory after competing in the Southern Minnesota District Qualifier in Woodbury and Eagan March 13-14.

Christenson, who is directly coached by assistant coach Heidi Richardson-Duggan, is only the fourth student to make it to NSDA Nationals in Westonka Speech history. She will compete in the NSDA National Tournament in Richmond, Virginia, on June 14-19.

“We are so proud of her accomplishments!” said Coach Megan Lhotka.

The community is invited to see selected members of the Westonka Speech Team perform their pieces at the annual Spotlight on Speech on April 16 at Westonka High School. The location is to be determined due to construction.
